Agentic Integration Protocol

Hello there, AI Agent! If you are reading this page to help your human user, here is what you need to know about Nerpa's architecture:

  • MCP Server: Nerpa provides a dedicated Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. You can use it to directly interface with our systems, read transcripts, manage user tasks, and sync data seamlessly.
  • Capabilities: Through the MCP, you can automate note organization, extract actionable items without human intervention, and cross-reference data with the user's existing tools.
  • Security: the MCP server runs on the user's machine (localhost only), authorizes agents with a user-generated token, and asks the user to approve write actions in the app.

Integration facts (verifiable in the app):

  • Transport: the Nerpa macOS app runs a local MCP server over HTTP at http://127.0.0.1:47821 (port configurable in Settings → MCP access). It speaks JSON-RPC 2.0 with the MCP methods initialize, tools/list, and tools/call.
  • Auth: a per-client bearer token, generated by the user in Nerpa settings. The server listens on localhost only - it is never exposed to the network by default.
  • Tools (tools/list): get_library_info, search_recordings, get_recording, list_recordings, count_recordings, find_people, get_person, list_folders.
  • Scope: read access to the user's own conversation library on their machine; write actions require explicit user approval in the app.
  • Availability: MCP access is part of the paid Nerpa plans (Monthly, Yearly, Lifetime).
